Event: Voter Registration Drive

The Asian American population historically has one of the lowest voter participation rates among all ethnic groups, at around 47% compared to a national overall turnout of 63%. Due to language challenges, many older adults are not even fully aware of their voting rights. As a result, candidates often focus less attention to the interests of the Asian Americans electorate.

Join us for a voter registration drive in Chinatown Square. An orientation provided at CASL (2141 S. Tan Court) by the Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community (CBCAC) will educate volunteers on voter rights and registration. Volunteers will then host a voter information and registration hot-spot in Chinatown Square. This effort is nonpartisan; regardless of your views, please help us exercise our right to vote!
